So whilst I understand we're not doing anything mind-blowing and it may not be useful at all for some people, we hope that there's enough 'flow' in the tool to cover what we see as gaps in the tools that are available. Can you pitch them up and down easily and keep sync. Then there are things like, does the host or sampler plugin provide tempo sync? How easy is it to flick between loops and have them play back in time. Does the host remember where you were browsing when you chose that kick drum and allow you to continue choosing samples from that point? Or is there just the one browser which is now looking in a completely different place? The ability to then change the sample you are using as the track plays is variable. Luckily the plugin is free :)Īnother aspect is when you want to do something with the sample you have found you either have to load it into something host specific such as a Sampler / Drum Rack, or a plugin like Kontakt etc. How much depends on your host and your workflow. So at the most basic level having a tool to just quickly find your own stuff, no matter what host you use, has some value. Some are really good (Bitwig for example) and some barely have any audio file browsing (as others are helpfully pointing out) The driving force is that finding samples from within your host is not a level playing field. Please share your feedback if you have any feature requests! It's all about improving workflow and managing sample libraries.
